The Warta Ekonomi Intelligence Unit (WEIU) uses the method of desk research and quantitative research to obtain secondary and primary data used in IMACO 2017 research. Desk research is conducted to collect secondary data in the Financial Statements of Quarter III-2016 and other data that describes the performance of companies in Indonesia Throughout the year 2016. Desk research then produces nominations of selected companies that will be assessed by respondents on quantitative research.

Quantitative research is conducted to collect primary data through telephone and online surveys. Phone surveys conducted on 5,000 respondents spread across Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar. And online surveys conducted against 1,000 respondents spread across the territory of Indonesia.
