J A K A R T A, November 27, 2024– Lion Group fully supports the Government’s policy through the Ministry of Transportation to lower economic class airfare rates on domestic flights during Christmas and New Year periods (Nataru) 2024/2025, from December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025. This policy is in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s direction to help the public (including the public) reduce the cost of air travel while encouraging the national economy.
Lion Group welcomes this move as part of an effort to realize asta cita Presiden to strengthen national connectivity, support community mobility, and build the country’s economy through the air transport sector. A 10% reduction in tariff policy implemented across airports in Indonesia is expected to provide real benefits for people traveling during the Nataru(Christmas and New year) holiday period.
Positive Impact on the Public and National Economy
This policy is designed with the balance between public interest and operational sustainability of the airline. Decreased airfare rates expected to be:
1. Easily accessibility of the community in traveling air at a more affordable cost.
2. Increase domestic tourism activity and economic growth in various regions of Indonesia.
3. Provide greater opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) to participate in the improvement of local economies during times of religious, family and holiday needs.
Lion Group continues to coordinate intensively with the Ministry of Transportation, other related Ministries, and all flight stakeholders, including PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, and AirNav Indonesia, to ensure that this airfare rate reduction policy can be implemented properly without reducing the quality of service to customers.
As part of technical preparation, Lion Group will reset ticket price systems, optimize operational efficiency and keep aviation safety prioritized.
Lion Group is committed to providing the best service to all customers during the Nataru period, prioritizing the safety, comfort and timeliness of the flight. Support of all parties, Lion Group is optimistic that this policy can have a positive long-term impact on the public and the economy of Indonesia.
