Secret of Flight Safety: Important Preparation of Lion Group Before Flight
J A K A R T A, January 13, 2025– Aviation Safety is a top priority in the aviation industry. The flight preparation process, known as pre-flight check, is a mandatory step before the plane takes off. This series of inspections aims to ensure the safety and safety of all passengers and crew members.
The flight preparation process is divided into two main parts Preparation in Flight Operations (FLOPS) and Preparation on Aircraft. Here are the steps:
1. Preparation in Flight Operations (FLOPS)
- Blood Pressure Examination. The crew underwent blood tension checks to ensure they are in optimal condition. Abnormal blood pressure, such as hypertension (high blood pressure) or hypotension (low blood pressure), can affect decision-making, especially in emergency situations.
- Alcohol Level Examination. International standards and regulations of Indonesian aviation set zero tolerance to alcohol. This check ensures the crew is free from alcohol influence that can interfere with coordination and concentration during duty.
- Flight Crew Briefing. The flight team receives important information such as routes, weather conditions and situations at the destination airport.
- Document Check. Fittings of documents such as pilot license, fraternity certificate, and verified flight permit.
- Fuel Plan and Flight Plan. Fuel calculations and flight plans are made taking into account the aircraft’s distance, weather and weight factors.
- Loadsheet preparation. Making the distribution of aircraft weight (passengers, cargo, fuel) to maintain balance and ensure the aircraft is not overloaded.
If any crew of the aircraft does not meet health standards, they will be replaced by crew stand by team to keep the flight schedule. Crew stand by is a reserve aircraft crew or flight personnel ready, such as a pilot or flight attendant, who have been scheduled to be in a condition ready to replace the active crew in case of another crew replacement or sudden need.
2. Preparation on Aircraft
- Exterior Visual Inspection. The pilot and technician inspect the outer part of the plane to ensure no damage, fuel leakage, or other problems.
- Cockpit check. Starting from the initial checklist, power-up aircraft, to testing navigation, communication and flight control systems.
- Cabin Interior Examination. Safety equipment completeness such as oxygen mask, buoy, and seat belt are checked.
- Final check. Before the plane moves, final checks are performed on weight, balance, and locking cabin door.
- Flight Safety Briefing. Safety Guides for customers such as the use of seat belts during flight, oxygen mask and evacuation lines during emergencies.
Maintaining Safety
Each stage of this preparation is designed to minimize risk and ensure flight safety. Lion Group is committed to meeting the highest standards in every aspect of its operations, from crew health checks to airplane readiness before flying.
Through this strict procedure, Lion Group ensures a safe and comfortable flight experience for all passengers.
